Dr. Gina Tsai and Dr. Godfrey Lam of the Vancouver Coastal Allergy & Immunology will be one of the groups moving their business to the Mount Pleasant community. We recently spoke to Dr. Tsai to get to know her better and learn why she chose HOUSS for their business…
Can you tell us about your business?
Dr. Tsai: We are a group of specialists in clinical immunology and allergy.
What were some of the key features that led to your decision to purchase at HOUSS?
Dr. Tsai: Prior to making an offer on HOUSS, we had been searching for approximately six months and couldn’t find any suitable options. HOUSS meets all of our requirements because of its central Vancouver location, proximity to our current office, appropriate size, and the zoning permitting medical office use.
What are you most looking forward to when it comes time to moving in?
Dr. Tsai: Bigger space. Our current office is built for two physicians, and we have another physician interested in joining us. We were looking for a space that would provide us with the flexibility to accommodate more patients and up to four physicians.
Why was purchasing the right move for your business?
Dr. Tsai: Our rent has continued to increase over the past few years. We have been renting office space for the last four to eight years, with one office move each. Now that we have built-up some capital, we felt it was time to put down roots, purchase, and build our own space.
What drew you to Mount Pleasant?
Dr. Tsai: The proximity to public transit and amenities, yet the area is somewhat shielded from the hustle and bustle of the Broadway corridor. I personally think Dr. Lam agreed to buy because of all the nearby bakeries!
